Contador: “I am one of the most tested athletes in the world”
On the third day of the hearings in the Alberto Contador case at the CAS yesterday, the Spaniard spoke for just over half an hour. His main message was that he didn’t dope. “I am one of the most tested athletes in the world. Since 2008 I was checked over a hundred times and in the previous Giro 16 times.”
It’s a defense that sounds awfully familiar.
The third day of the hearings took over ten hours. Contador was joined constantly by his brother Fran and lawyer Ramos. Teammates and friends Paolo Tiralongo and Benjamin Noval were there the entire day to give out a five-minute statement. Tiralongo said to the journalists present that Alberto was a example to all his colleagues.
Today the closing statements will be held. CAS has confrmed the Spaniard will not have a verdict before the end of this year.
