The CX prize scheme – what does a cyclocross rider earn?
The revenues of an elite cyclocrosser consists of;
- salary the team pays him
- start fee, dependent on his level
- sponsor contracts
- and the premiums from the different rankings
World Cup
The most lucrative of crosses are the World Cup races. The winner of the race gets €5.000, the second one to finish gets €3.500 and the third receives €3.000. The total prize scheme per cross is €42.500.
The World Cup consists of 8 crosses: Plzen, Tabor, Koksijde, Igorre, Namen, Heusden-Zolder, Liévin and Hoogerheide. The overall winner gets €30.000. The total prize scheme is €160.000.
Superprestige
The overall winner of the Superprestige earns €26.000. The number two has to do with almost half that: €14.500.The last rider to earn money from the final ranking is the number 15. He wins €500. The Superprestige consists of 8 races: Ruddervoorde, Zonhoven, Hamme-Zogge, Asper-Gavere, Gieten, Diegem, Hoogstraten and Middelkerke.

GvA Trophee
In the Gazet van Antwerpen Trophee the riders earn money by their place in the final ranking after eight crosses: Koppenberg, Ronse, Hasselt, Essen, Loenhout, Baal, Lille and Oostmalle. The winner gets €26.000:

The GvA cyclocross cycle has two other rankings: the Belgacom fastest lap and the intermediate sprint. The rider who clocks the most fastest laps in the eight races wins €2.500. The number two gets €500 and the third in the ranking receives €250. The rider who wins the most intermediate sprints in the GvA-crosses wins €2.500.
